Miss Teresa Anderson brings 30 years of teaching experience to Crete Park District, teaching traditional ballet to all levels and ages. Bring your little princess to this class! She will love spinning on her toes and learning about her strong arms! Younger classes are specially made just for little ones with music they know and love! Older girls build confidence and self esteem as they develop strength and grace in this program, while spending time with friends and having tons of fun! Ballet shoes are required!
Dear Ballet Parents:
We would like to take this opportunity to update and inform you
on Miss Teresa's battle with Breast Cancer and how it will affect the upcoming
session of ballet. Ballet classes will begin as scheduled on February 7th and
more information on classes can be found below.
Miss Teresa had her first surgery on December 18th. Within 2 weeks it was decided that she would
need to undergo a mastectomy (January 15th) to remove all of the cancer. She has come through both the surgeries like
a trooper. Beginning next week she will
move onto the treatment phase, which includes both chemotherapy and
will need time to see how her body will react to the treatments before
returning to classes. The many visits as
well as the countless cards and flowers she has received from her family,
friends and dancers have been a great source of support to her. As stated above, the ballet classes will begin later this
week as scheduled. Miss Teresa has
worked with some local dance/ballet teachers who are stepping up to help teach
the classes until she is ready to return to her schedule. Miss Loren Harn, Miss Brenda Langan, Miss
Cathy Gervais and myself will be sharing the classes and working with the
dancers. It is Miss Teresa's plan to
return to teaching by March and hopes that her dancers will be there waiting
for her. The following are the few temporary
changes being made to the winter- spring schedule:
Studio 2&3: No
Tuesday Class: we will pro-rate the fee for this class. We will deduct February classes and credit all classes missed after that.
Studio2: No Wednesday
class. Girls can attend the Studio 3 class on Wednesday instead and if on pointe girls should also
attend the Pointe class on Monday evenings from 6:45 - 7:15pm.
Upper 1: Can
choose either the Monday or Wednesday Upper II/III. (Miss Teresa knows this will be a challenge but wants
you to try.)
If you have any questions regarding your classes, please
feel free to call me at 708-672-6969 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your cooperation and dedication
to helping Miss Teresa through this transition.
We hope to see you all in class in a week.
