This training will provide you with the know how to act responsibly in an emergency situation including when adults, children and infants need immediate intervention to restore breathing and/or blood circulation. The Crete Park District's 50 Years of Fun (Save the Date) festival was such a huge success last year that we have decided to turn it into an annual event, renaming it "CRETE PARK-A-PALOOZA!" It is our goal to give back to the community by providing a fun filled and affordable day on Saturday, September 6 at Heritage Park, 1550 Sangamon Street in Crete. Be a star gymnast! Whether it is a pat on the back, the words "YOU DID IT" or the feeling of "I DID GREAT TODAY", all children need to feel a sense of pride in whatever they do. Within the program all of the students will "shine" as they work to achieve the skills presented to them. When a child enrolls in the Tumblebear Gymnastic program, they will begin to work on a specific list of skills in bar, beam, vault, mini tramp, air trak and tumbling. Upon completion of the list, students will be awarded with a patch to honor their successes. New sheets will be introduced as the students complete previous ones.

This single class will ease confusion or apprehension many people commonly hold towards yoga postures. Harmonize your life with this ancient healing art. Increase your flexibility through simple, gentle stretches and reduce stress with rhythmic breathing. Wear loose fitting clothes and bring a mat or towel to class. Age 18 & up only please.

It's back by popular demand so start your engines and get ready for the Crete Park District's eighth annual Road Rally adventure hunt. Travel in your car and compete against other cars and the clock to solve your way through clues and questions! Answers will lead you through our course of fun. (Come with a full tank of gas!) Think you got what it takes to rock out on the guitar? Well, test your skills out at our Guitar Hero III Tournament. We will be giving out some rockin' prizes to the Guitar Hero legends of the night. Refreshments will be provided!

The Crete Park District is again featuring our Memorial Lights Ceremony. This year it will be held at 6:30 PM, Sunday, December 7, 2008. Lights may be purchased in memory of a loved one for $4. At the ceremony, each name will be read just before the tree lighting. Afterwards, everyone is welcome to stay for refreshments. If you would like us to mail a Memorial Light form to you, please call 672-6969. (If lights are purchased after November 26, lights will be placed on the tree, but names will not be on printed materials!)

Flags or colorguard is an activity which mixes dance techniques and various props, most often flags, into colorful impressive routines. After trick-or-treating bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy this fun HALLOWEEN classic movie shown on the big screen in Crete Park. Your family will love this night out! Show will begin at dusk. Even if you've seen the movie before you've never seen it like this! Dress for the weather!

Put on your costumes and come show them off as you trick or treat down the trail! Area businesses will be at the Crete Park District Bike Trail to hand out candy and goodies! The Trick-or-Treating will begin at the entrance on Douglas Lane in Crete. This event was a huge success last year! No registration is required! Watch for the Balmoral Race Track Trolley!

Businesses & Volunteers Needed!

To participate in the Trick-or-Treat Trail, businesses only need to call (708) 672-6969. Set up will begin at 11:00 AM and must be completed by NOON. Enter at the Douglas Street Entrance of the Crete Park Bike Trail. (Kids are usually lining up by NOON and traffic needs to be clear by then!) We had approximately 1000 children participate in the program last year and look forward to a great turn out again this year. It's a great way to advertise! Remember, the children are all accompanied by parents and grandparents. Where else can you contact approximately 2500+ people, meet them in person for the cost of some candy. Hope to see you there!

Using arts & crafts, song and creative play, instructors will help ease the parent child seperation, help build skills in listening, following directions and socialization.
